The cake smash and splash session was such fun! Our son was a little reluctant to get messy at first but got well into the swing after some encouragement. This is a great way to make memories for them, I would thoroughly recommend!

Modern Toddler Portrait Photography

For children aged 1-3 years

Clean and modern toddler portrait photography, no forced posing, simply your child just as they are.

These are classic and timeless portraits where the focus is purely on your child and no props are added.  I have some stunning handmade outfits which you are welcome to use and a beautiful collection of flokati rugs, woollen knitted textures to sit on and handmade wooden seats and rattan baby chairs.

My style is fun and relaxed, we simply hang out and I will engage with your child to coax giggles and the sweetest of smiles.

Inclusive price, no session fee. Available Monday-Friday only. If a weekend is needed, a session fee of £50 is required upon booking.

Cake Smash & Splash

What is a Cake Smash photo shoot?

This may be one of the only times you will actively encourage your child to eat fistfuls of cake and to make as much mess as possible in doing so! I begin the session by taking classic portrait photographs (as above) of your little one (while they are nice and clean) before presenting the cake to them. I have some beautiful wooden toys and a little wooden birthday cake with candles which they can play with during this part of the photoshoot. I have an extensive studio wardrobe filled with adorable rompers, dresses and knitwear for both boys and girls and the sweetest little birthday hats and crowns too! We will discuss outfits and styling when you book the session so we will have everything in place well in advance.

Will my baby enjoy it?

 

Your baby will have such a lovely time at their cake smash sessions,  it is the best first birthday messy play-date ever! I will have their favourite songs playing in the background, and there is usually lots of singing and playing!  Some babies get really into the spirit of the cake smash and get majorly involved with the cake, while others are a little more hesitant giving the cake just a gentle prod. Your baby will be given a little wooden spoon which they can use to explore the cake if they are reluctant to get their hands messy. Whichever way that your child responds to the cake you will love seeing their personality captured in the photographs that I take. You will honestly treasure them forever, and they will too, when they are older.

Can you tell me about the splash part?

 

Once your baby has had fun with their cake, it is time for some decadence with a soak and splash in my stunning mini roll top bath or leather-handled tin baby bath with lovely warm water. Babies just love this experience and it’s the perfect end to this special photoshoot, you get to take a squeaky clean child home after I have captured adorable images of them splashing, smiling and popping bubbles!

What about the cake?

 

A naked vanilla sponge and buttercream cake is included and  I have a collection of cakes stands should you wish to include one. I will box up any cake that is left intact at the end of the session for you to enjoy with a cup of tea when you get home.

Each birthday child is given a little wooden spoon from me as a keepsake. We still have the wooden spoons that my daughters received as gifts when they were tiny, and although the days are long gone when they would stand on a stool to help with baking, using one now always brings a sense of nostalgia.
