Milestones are so special! Sitting up is a huge milestone in your little one’s development and should be celebrated!
Sitter sessions take place when your little one is sitting confidently and completely unaided which is often between 6 and 10 months old (but every child is different), it is the perfect bridge between their newborn or older baby session and their 1st birthday or cake smash & splash photo shoot. In sitter sessions we see a baby’s character and personality really begin to shine as they interact more with me and the camera.
These are classic and timeless portraits with no fussy backdrops or distracting props. I have some stunning handmade outfits which you are welcome to use and a beautiful collection of flokati rugs, woollen textures to sit on, bowls and hand made wooden sitter seats.
I love to include the whole family in these portrait sessions!

Questions and answers
How long is a sitter photoshoot?
I allow up to one hour for a sitter session.
Can my family members be included?
Absolutely, husbands/partners and siblings can be included in these photographs!
What should my baby wear?
A pre-session consultation is included in your session fee and I can provide guidance on what to wear.
When should I book?
I recommend you book your session a couple of months before your baby turns 6-8 months old to ensure availability.
However, if you are looking for a specific midweek date (e.g. when your baby is six months’ old exactly), then please contact me as soon as possible. This gives you the best chance of securing your preferred date.
What do I need to bring to the photoshoot?
As soon as your prospective session date has been secured I will send you a “Preperation Guide’ which details everything you need to know plus reminders about what to bring along for you and your baby.
When will the images and artwork be ready?
Your fully edited images will be ready for viewing within 3 week of your session. I will contact you to arrange your in person viewing appointment or if preferred you viewing appointment can take place via Zoom. At this point you will select which package you would like, you can also choose prints, products or wall art.
What can we expect at the session?
Sitter sessions usually last between 45 – 60 minutes. A 6-12 month old baby has a very short attention span. Therefore, a sitter session needs to go quick. It usually involves 2-3 setups with few different accessories for each setup. A baby is photographed from different angles making sure that all of their tiny details are captured.
